Certificate Overview
The Retail Management Certificate of Completion (CCL) is designed to prepare individuals working in the Retail Industry, and related fields. It provides training in supervision and management, marketing, financial management, and business planning.
The curriculum encompasses several business essentials and also emphasizes the skill sets needed for effective management and communication in the work environment. It is endorsed by the Western Association of Food Chains and Food Marketing Institute, and is relevant in any retail sector as its course content and learning outcomes mirror those advocated by the National Retail Federation.
South Mountain Community College offers an 8-course Retail Management Certificate that can be completed within two years while working full or part-time. All courses are college-level and apply to more advanced educational programs such as an Associate of Applied Science in Retail Management, Associate of Applied Science in General Business, and transfer to Bachelor degree programs at State Universities. Courses are available face-to-face at employer sites and on campus, and selected courses are on-line.
